Dan’s passion was writing and performing music. He lived in Littleton, Denver and Englewood, Colorado. He was born on Jin Denver, the son of Laura (Jimenez) Schwartz and Larry Schwartz. He was selected as one of Crain’s New York Business’ “40 under 40” emerging business leaders, and was named as one of the 100 Global Leaders for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum in Davos.Daniel Abraham Schwartz passed away on Jin Englewood. He also studied at Harvard Business School, the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Schwartz received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Harvard University. He has participated in the RAND Organization’s Russia-US Business Leadership Forum and has served as the co-chair of the Harvard College Schools Committee in NYC.Īs a speaker and author in the areas of effective global philanthropy and foundation asset management, he has moderated discussion panels and workshops at the UBS Philanthropy Forum, the World Economic Forum, McKinsey & Co., Harvard University, Yale University, the Rockefeller Foundation-Bellagio, the Global Philanthropy Forum, and The Prince Bernhard Fund for Nature, the Badenweiler Symposium, TEDxDanubia, and at many international YPO and other conferences. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Chatham House, the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the judging academy for the Global Teachers Prize, and of the Synergos Global Philanthropists Circle (GPC), a non-profit organization that addresses global poverty and social injustice where he served as the co-chair of the GPC. Previously, he was the Executive Director of the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity, where he was responsible for the Conference of Nobel Laureates. He served as the CEO of Porticus, a philanthropic grant-making organization and strategic advisory consultancy, where he led a staff of 200+ colleagues in 15 global offices with activities in 90 countries around the world. Schwartz is a founding board member of The Commons Project and the former board chair of the GAVI Campaign.
